The Sun Dream Team 2023/24 – Loyalty programme terms
THE SUN DREAM TEAM LOYALTY PROGRAMME TERMS
We offer our classic Dream Team Fantasy Game as well as additional games via the Website and Apps.
You can register for this season’s Game Year, which runs from 17 July 2023 until 15 July 2024.
This page includes specific terms for Loyalty Programme Terms and should be read alongside the General Terms & Conditions, the Game Rules and the Privacy Policy; together, they form the Dream Team Terms & Conditions that you are agreeing to.
All capitalised terms are defined in the Glossary on the Games Rules page.
SECTION 1: DESCRIPTION
The Dream Team Loyalty Programme rewards users for engaging with the Games and for hitting performance targets in those Games.
For the purposes of these terms, “Games” means The Sun’s Dream Team Fantasy Game, the Score Predictor, Higher or Lower? and other designated games that we may make available on the Dream Team Hub.
These terms contain various capitalised terms; if not defined in these terms, then they will have the meaning given to them in the glossary of the Game Rules.
Achievements in the Games are rewarded with virtual Badges and XP (Experience Points), which allow you to progress through the various levels (the “XP Levels”) all the way up to XP Level 6.
Your XP Level will determine your eligibility for entry into one or more prize draws (the “Prize Draws”), which are made monthly from August 2023 to July 2024.
The terms and conditions for all of the Prize Draws are set out at section 3.
SECTION 2: HOW IT WORKS
2.1 How to participate
All eligible registered participants in Dream Team 2023/24 are automatically enrolled in the Loyalty Programme and applicable Prize Draws for the duration of the Game Year.
You can earn Experience Points (XP) by playing the Games and recording specific achievements. The number of XP you obtain will determine your XP Level (starting at XP Level 0 and moving up to XP Level 6).
There are separate Prize Draws for each XP Level, and the frequency of such Prize Draws and the corresponding prizes for each Prize Draw are set out at section 3.2.
2.2 Levels and XP requirements
All registered Dream Team players will start on 0 XP and XP Level 0.
The following XP are required to reach a new Level.
XP Level – Minimum XP required
1 – 100
2 – 400
3 – 1000
4 – 1800
5 – 2800
6 – 4000
2.3 Where to find Level and XP details
Your XP and XP Level, (as well as your Badges and Trophies) are displayed on the Hub Page on The Sun’s Dream Team Website and Apps.
2.4 How to Earn XP and Badges
You can earn XP in two ways: either through performance in the Games, or by collecting Badges, based on specific actions and achievements, as detailed in the following sections:
2.5 Performance
XP points earned by playing the Games are awarded in the following ways:
Fantasy Game – you will earn 1 XP for every Fantasy Point that your team gains. For example, if your team gains 135 Fantasy Points in a Gameweek, you will receive 135 XP.
Score Predictor – you will earn 1 XP for every Score Predictor Point gained. For example, if you gain 30 Points in a Matchweek, you will receive 30 XP.
Higher or Lower? – You will earn one, three or five XP for five, ten or fifteen correct answers in a row, respectively.
2.6 Badges
Badges will be awarded based on completing specified actions and achievement for Games and XP points will be awarded by collecting the available Badges.

Trophies will remain in your profile for future Game Years, even after XP and Levels have been reset.
SECTION 3: PRIZE DRAW
3.1 Prize Draw Overview
As part of our Loyalty Programme, we will run Prize Draws each month during the Game Year. Please see section 3.2 for the Draw Schedule.
You will automatically be entered into each Prize Draw that you qualify for, depending on your XP Level at the relevant Closing Date for each month (as set out in the table at section 3.2). Please see section 3.3 for more details on the Closing Dates and XP Levels required for each Prize Draw.
If your XP Level qualifies you to enter into the corresponding Prize Draw for that XP Level, then you will automatically be entered into all subsequent Prize Draws for that XP Level.
For example, if you obtain 932 XPs (i.e. XP Level 2) on 30 September 2023, you will be placed into the Prize Draws for both XP Level 1 and XP Level 2 for September 2023, and then all subsequent Prize Draws for XP Level 1 and XP Level 2 until the end of the Game Year. If you reach a higher XP Level, you will also be entered into additional Prize Draws for the relevant XP Level.

4.2 No purchase is necessary and there is no charge to register to play the Games.
4.3 By playing the Games, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and the rules of the Prize Draw.
4.4 The Prize Draws are only open to persons who satisfy the eligibility requirements in the General Terms and Conditions. By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition and reserves the right to disqualify you if you fail to do so promptly and to its satisfaction.
4.5 You may not win more than one Prize Draw in any Competition Period. Prize Draws for each Competition Period will be drawn sequentially, starting with the Prize Draw for the highest XP Level first. If your name is drawn more than once in any Competition Period, then you will be awarded the prize for the highest Prize Draw from which you were drawn and we will randomly select another entry for the other Prize Draws from which you were drawn.
4.6 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draws.
4.7 Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative for the prize EXCEPT as specified at section 4.8.
4.8 All non-cash prizes are only available if you are registered in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland and your postal address for receipt of any such prize is in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. For winners registered anywhere else in the world, the Promoter will substitute the non-cash prize with a cash equivalent which will be sent to your bank account by electronic bank transfer. The cash equivalence shall be reasonably determined by the Promoter and shall not include any VAT or sales tax in respect of the relevant non-cash prize.
4.9 Any such amounts will be paid in British Pounds Sterling. If your bank account is in a different currency, (e.g. Euros) the prize amount may differ to the amount stated due to the then current conversion rate offered by your bank and may be subject to conversion fees (these are both outside of the control of the Promoter and the Promoter cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies or fees).
4.10 The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.
4.11 Prizes are not negotiable and are non-transferable.
4.12 The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
4.13 The Promoter will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after the relevant Prize Draw, using the telephone number or email address provided by you.
4.14 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname and county of prize winners. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter by email dtgeneral@dreamteamfc.com or by completing the Contact Us form in the ‘Help’ section. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
4.15 Prizes may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
4.16 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected
4.17 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Prize Draws.
4.18 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Prize Draws where it becomes necessary to do so.
4.19 Subject to section 4.5 of the General Terms and Conditions, these terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts of England and Wales.
