She said: “Our patio was boring and uninviting, so we decided to build a slat wall.”
First, they got pressure treated 4×4 wood pieces with concrete to use as stabilizers for the new wall.
Next, they cut and stained multiple pieces of 1×2 pressure treated wood pieces with concrete to create the wood paneling.
She added: “We used the stained color, canyon brown.”
Then they nailed the 1×2 pieces onto the 4×4 posts, which had been stained black.
Additional supports were also added with 1×4 wood pieces before she revealed a before photo, showing a plain concrete floor and ceiling.
The final result revealed a cozy patio furniture set and wood table to compliment the paneled wall that made the space look more inviting.
“Our patio is so cozy now and we love how it turned out,” she said.
Commenters were impressed by how much the DIY project transformed and elevated the yard.
“Looks great! Feels like an outdoor room,” wrote an amazed viewer.
“I really like how you did the verticals black and the horizontal the natural color,” added another person.
People also complimented how the transformation blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings.
“Isn’t it just amazing how the texture of the background wall and the trees is just gloriously satisfying!?” asked one impressed commenter.
Others were curious to know how much Ryia spent to create such an upscale looking space.
She responded: “Just under $250 for the slat wall. This includes all the lumbar, stain, and the concrete.”
