I upgraded my privacy fence with two cheap steps – the final touch is a $30 Home Depot buy
A DIY fan has upgraded her privacy fence using two affordable steps.
The final touch was a $30 Home Depot buy that has transformed her property’s boundary line.
It was a lot cheaper than timber and more easily achieved too.
The idea came from Emily (@diy_with_emily), a lady who likes to take on a project.
She has over 32,000 followers and another 954,000 likes on her TikTok.
In this post, her unsightly chain link was the focus of her attention.
She had a large area to cover and needed a solution.
The chain link may not have had a very pleasing appearance, but it did have one thing going in its favor.
It provided a good structure on which Emily could erect her more attractive-looking fence.
“I’ve had a lot of questions about this fence cover,” she said of her new-look boundary.
“This was before,” she explained and the camera panned around to show the chain link.
She started off by stretching a privacy screen across its expanse, available from Amazon.
“A privacy screen is necessary first. Without it, you could easily see the chain link, said Emily.
Finally, over the top of this went her reed fencing: “Then the fence from Home Depot.”
It created a sanctuary-like atmosphere.
Commenters were impressed and one had her own tip.
“I doubled up my bamboo fence to help with privacy. I’ve had it for many years and some have started to discolor so consider treating it when it’s new.”
This fan was bowled over by it: “I need that privacy screen, looks great.”
There was no doubting this viewer’s feelings: “I had one of these. Loved it.”
