Tattooist leave people ‘terrified’ as he shows what’s really involved when you get a blackout inking
A TATTOOIST has left people “terrified” after showing the size of the needle that’s used when you get a blackout inking.
The artist from the Riot Ink salon in Ohio showed themselves working on a client – blacking out their entire arm.
And instead of a single needle being used to distribute the ink – as is the case with a normal tattoo – the blackout uses what looks like a hundred little needles, all moving as one.
“Blackout tattoos are for the brave,” the TikTok video was captioned.
People quickly flooded the comments section to weigh in, as many admitted they had no idea that’s what is involved in a blackout tatt.
“OUCH!” one wrote.
As another added: “I could never do that it looks scary and i have 4 tattoos”.
“I want a blackout sleeve but the needle cluster does look scary,” a third admitted.
While someone else commented: “I’m now terrified but it’s booked!”
Looks like one of those combs for head lice lol,” another said.
As someone else wrote: “I just know the healing is atrocious”.
“Arguably the worst part,” the tattooist replied.
In response to another comment, they revealed there are actually an incredible 135 needles in the device used for blackouts.
“I want to blackout my thigh but these needles terrify me,” someone else said.
With the tattoo artist responding: “I’ve been told it’s not as bad as fine line but it really is different for everyone!”
“Broooo that’s scary as F**K,” another admitted.
Reasons people choose to get a blackout tattoo vary massively.
Often they’re chosen because the person wants to cover up previous inkings.
People can also choose a blackout as a statement piece, or sometimes as a sign of grief or mourning.
