Emmerdale’s Rishi Sharma loses son forever after vile insult
RISHI Sharma has worsened his rift with son Jai despite his hopes for a reconciliation.
He fired off a vile insult to Jai and his soon-to-be wife Laurel about their abortion which left their relationship dead in the water for good.
Fans have watched on in recent weeks on the ITV soap opera when Jai discovered that his life had been a lie after his parents had lied to him about his true paternity.
Rishi was not actually his father and he and his mother Georgia had kept it all a secret.
Whilst Rishi had raised Jai, he was only his adoptive father – which left Jai devastated.
Despite hopes that they could mend their broken relationship, Rishi now appears to have well and truly sealed their fate with his shock abortion comment.
A drunk Rishi had already been spilling all on Jai’s cocaine addiction and his angry outbursts to revellers in The Woolpack before heading off to give his son a ‘piece of [his] mind’.
Seeing his ex Georgia, he pleaded with her to ensure that Jai did not know “the truth” – a comment he overheard.
During the ensuring fiery row, Rishi shockingly said: “So you think it’s right to take a life?”
The comment about Laurel and Jai’s abortion left the couple stunned and disgusted.
The pair had decided to terminate the pregnancy after discovering the child would be born with Down’s syndrome.
As they walked away, Jai told his father he would never speak to him again.
Looking on disappointingly, Georgia added: “You’ve probably lost our son for good.”
Rishi was left alone in the village as he came to terms with what he had just down and how his connection with Jai may have been lost forever.
It came as fans were shocked to see EastEnders star Lin Blakely, famed for her role as Pam Coker, arrive in the Dales as the newly re-cast Georgia.
One wrote: “Ey up, whats Pam Coker doing in Emmerdale? X”
A second said: “It’s Pam Coker straight from Walford.”
Another added: “Eastenders axing Pam Coker was such a stupid decision (like a lot of their axing choices) Oh well, their loss is #Emmerdale gain.”
