A TOP Nineties rock star looks completely different 25 years after the band’s iconic smash hit.
The Goo Goo Dolls rocketed to fame with track Iris, catapulting frontman John Rzeznik, 57, to fame.
In the group’s heyday, the New York rocker was known for his poker-straight bleach blonde hair.
His locks brushed his shoulders, with a fringe across his forehead.
John often sported black clothing and silver jewellery on-stage, oozing rocker vibes.
He completed the look with colourful tattoos across his chest and arms.
Yet fans could hardly recognise the rocker as he appeared on Australian TV this week.
He pulled on a red baseball cap to mask his iconic locks and looked fresh-faced in a vest.
His eyebrows were clearly defined and he couldn’t stop smiling as he chatted to the hosts of The Morning Show.
John spoke via a video-link from Florida to promote the band’s Australian tour this summer.
The name rockers formed in 1985 yet have found a new following thanks to TikTok.
John has previously opened up on going sober after a huge lifestyle change.
He previously told Metro: “The point that I got to was so dark, it was bad. I was completely counterproductive.
“Luckily everybody hung together with me.
“It was a little weird when I first got sober because everybody would go out to dinner, and nobody would drink.
“And everybody would be texting under the table ‘meet me at the bar after dinner, I think John’s gonna leave!’”
Last year, the band’s frontman told how he still has Glastonbury on his bucket list.
The US rocker told us: “If I was asked, I definitely wouldn’t say no. That would be amazing.”
Last year the group – John and Robby Takac – released their 13th album, Chaos In Bloom.
And John said it annoyed him when musicians complained about performing live.
He went on: “Part of what we do is, ‘You are an entertainer’.
“And you have to put that hat on and play the songs that people want to hear.
“I know lots of artists who are like, ‘Uh, if I have to play that song one more time, I’ll kill myself’. And I’m like, ‘OK, you ungrateful b*****d’.
“I was in a bar with one guy who had a massive hit, and he’s whining about it, and I’m like, ‘Dude, that song bought you a house in the Hollywood Hills’.”
