Lil Tay shared heartbreaking last post about fellow rapper XXXTentacion’s murder before teen’s own tragic death
CONTROVERSIAL social media rapper Lil Tay’s last social media post has been revealed to be a heartbreaking tribute to a fellow rapper she said changed her.
The teenager’s family confirmed her death, along with her brother’s, on Wednesday.
Lil Tay’s last social media post was shared on Instagram on June 18, 2018.
The post was a touching tribute to fellow rapper XXXTentacion, who was shot and killed the same day.
XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was only 20 years old when he died.
Police say he was gunned down in a possible robbery.
“X you truly changed me,” Lil Tay’s post started out.
“You were there for me when everyone wanted me to fail, you were there to give me advice, you were there,” she wrote.
Lil Tay, born Claire Hope, went on to call XXXTentacion a father figure, reflecting on the times he FaceTimed and called.
“I can’t believe this, the evil in the world, This isn’t good Bye. I Love you Bro.”
The post also featured photos of messages shared between the two rappers as well as a photo of a video phone call between them.
Lil Tay’s family shared the news of her passing via her Instagram page. on Wednesday.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing,” they wrote.
“We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.
The post continued: “This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock.
“Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.”
The details surrounding the pairs death remain unknown and Lil Tay’s brother’s identify has not yet been revealed.
The rapper first rose to prominence in 2018, sharing videos of herself using expletives and boasting about her wealth.
