My friend was so smug when she bagged a heavy Too Good To Go bag but she realised she’d be done dirty when she got home
A FOODIE was lost for words after seeing what really was inside her bargain Too Good To Go goodie bag.
Founded in Denmark in 2015, the Too Good To Go app has become a favourite for many who are looking to nab scrumptious food on the cheap.
Many popular restaurant, café and food brands, such as Greggs, Morrisons and Costa, have partnered with the site, providing a “magic bag” of unsold food to users at the end of the working day.
One of those who managed to get her hands of some goodies was a foodie, from Chicago, the US, who had popped down to a bakery in the area.
In her head, she’d come back home with a massive bag of assorted pastries that weighed a whopping 7lbs.
But the reality, sadly, was slightly different, as her pal, Ally, took to TikTok to share the hilarious fail.
Instead of scrumptious pastries, the foodie was given a plastic bag that was filled with bits of cake that had been ”smashed together”.
The now-viral clip, which has been viewed close to 2million times in just one week, also revealed the baked goods – what appeared to be sponge cake in layers with a darker top, believed to be chocolate.
Ally added in the caption that the cake did not go to waste, as she said: ”But ofc [officially] we still ate it! This made me laugh so hard.”
Over 900 people flocked to comments, where many shared their experiences with the popular app.
One foodie said: ”I got a too good to go bag from greggs and it had 5 sausage rolls, 2 baguettes, a pack of yumyums, 2 doughnuts and a jam biscuit for £2.99.”
Another, meanwhile, reckoned: ”Too Good to Go is AMAZING in Europe and usually not worth it in the States from my experience in several big cities here.”
”I once got around 20 mini cupcakes smashed together with all the frosting removed. 10/10 would do again,” someone else chimed in,
”I once got an extremely full gallon size zip lock of potato salad….” a TikTok user claimed.
