Frasier is back in the building and will return with a brand new series this October on Paramount+[/caption]The streamer announced the news with a first look at the rebooted show after nearly 20 years off air.
Award winning actor Kelsey Grammer is reprising his role as Frasier Crane.
The new series will consist of 10 episodes with the first two airing back-to-back on Friday, October 17th.
One big change long-term fans of the show will notice is its refreshed theme tune and intro.
A synopsis for the programme reads: “Filmed in front of a live studio audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, the new series follows Frasier Crane (Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.
“Frasier has re-entered the building!”
However, it’s not all good news for fans of the sitcom, which originally aired on NBC between 1993 and 2004.
David Hyde Pierce (Dr. Niles Crane), Jane Leeves (Daphne) and Peri Gilpin (Roz) are not appearing in the reboot.
Sadly actor John Mahoney who played Frasier’s father also won’t be back, as he died in 2018.
The new series stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son Freddy, Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor Alan, Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department, Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate Eve, and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David.
