I live off-grid – there’s an aspect of my outdoor shower which really confuses people, and it’s not the placement
A YOGA teacher has finally achieved his long-held dream to live off-grid.
He has built his treehouse home in Hawaii where he lives a self-sufficient life.
But there were some unusual aspects to his lifestyle that have confused people, most particularly his outdoor shower arrangements.
Robert Breton’s (@theinfinitecup) search for an authentic self-reliant life, includes using rain water for his showers.
It baffled viewers to his TikTok platform who asked: “Do you shower only with rain water?”
But it was a source of pride for Robert: “Yes, actually, it’s been two full years without having any tap water.”
He admitted his bathroom was still under construction. Nonetheless it was the natural way for him: “I take 100 percent rain water showers.”
A large tank collects rain water that is filtered to his sink and shower.
Robert has documented his journey as he creates his Hawaiian paradise and 856,000 followers relish his wholesome episodes.
“Escape the matrix and get back to nature,” is what determined his move from Northern California finally achieving his dream 15 years in the making.
He grows his own food and lives alongside nature in his garden of Eden.
Robert hasn’t tried to tame nature in his new home but accommodate it, even in his bathroom.
“I excentuate nature with exposed beams. Living trees and moss in the bathroom.
“This is seriously the best ever in my semi outdoor bathroom. I love it,” he said.
His post has been phenomenally popular attracting over 704,000 likes and thousands of comments.
One commenter vouched for the delight of bathing in rainwater.
“My skin was perfect when I lived off-grid in Hawaii and Colombia. Struggling hard in Florida with city water.”
It wasn’t uncommon said this person: “Pretty standard to collect rainwater for drinking water in New Zealand.”
A second was impressed: “That really has to be an awesome experience.”
And some envy from a third: “Omg this is amazing. Your skin looks awesome too. This is how we are supposed to be living.”
