Foodie shares incredible chicken nugget cookie recipe with a sweet spicy drizzle & it’s majorly divided the internet
WE thought we’d heard it all when it came to mixing sweet and savoury – but now a foodie has revealed their recipe for none other than Aldi chicken nugget cookies.
And it’s no surprise that the controversial food dish has already divided the internet right down the middle, with some saying they love the idea and others saying the snack is fit for the bin.
Social Media’s The Recipe Club shared the news on their TikTok account, as they told the haters that they really do work and taste great.
One of the cooks unveiled the weird but wonderful snack on their profile @therecipeclub, as they said: “Chicken nugget cookies – sounds disgusting, right? Wrong!
“I wanted to taste test Aldi’s very familiar looking nuggets by putting them inside of my favourite treat.
“Before you say, ‘Oh, everyone’s so creative’ in the comments, just think about this – you eat chicken and waffles with maple syrup, right? This is the same thing.”
He continued: “All I’ve done is replaced chocolate chips with chunks of nug.
“These days anything goes with everything – you just need to make sure the sweetness is nicely balanced with saltiness.”
He then shared the step-by-step guide on how to make the unique treat, using the usual cookie ingredients and a packet of Aldi’s McDonald’s dupe chicken nuggets.
The Recipe Club explained: “The cookie recipe is pretty standard – I got it off BBC good food.”
The 20-minute recipe requires butter, soft brown sugar, one egg, plain flour, baking powder – and of course the nuggets.
Once all the ingredients are mixed together in the right order – starting out with the butter and sugar, and then adding in the egg and folding in the flour and baking powder – it’s time for the special twist.
He explained: “Just stir your chicken bits in when you would put the chocolate chips in.”
And The Recipe Club added their very own top tip, as the foodie continued: “You’ll see that I’m dropping a decent amount of salt throughout the recipe.
“I’ve also put a healthy pile of pepper in there too because pepper is best mates with chicken.”
And once they’re cooking, it’s time to take it to another level by rustling up a hot honey sauce to serve the cookies with.
To do so, The Recipe Club mixed together some honey, hot sauce and butter, before whacking it in the oven for a while until the butter was fully- melted.

Then, when the cookies are baked after approximately ten minutes, simply pour over and let it all cool down, before tucking in.
But the idea of the chicken nugget cookies completely split The Recipe Club’s 203k followers – and many more.
On one hand, some people loathed the idea and didsn’t understand why anyone would want to try them.
One person wrote: “There is no way!”
Another added: “I’m British so I can safely say, no I don’t eat waffles and chicken, and I wouldn’t eat this.”
But at the other end of the spectrum, others went wild for the idea, saying they’d be first in line to try.
One such social media user said: “Yes, absolutely – yes!”
As another typed: “Why do I want to try this?”
