My 7p hack banished pesky fruit flies for good – all you need is two kitchen ingredients
A SAVVY woman has shared how she managed to banish hungry fruit flies with just two common ingredients – and it’s so easy too.
Pesky fruit flies is a common problem during summer when the temperatures warm up and the teeny insects have chosen your home as their ideal nesting – and feeding – place.
Luckily, one cleaning guru, only known as @allbeehive, has come to rescue, sharing how to tackle the issue.
According to the her, you can kill the tiny guests with an easy hack that calls for just two ingredients found in your kitchen.
Sharing the 7p trick on TikTok, the woman, believed to be from the US, revealed you needed some washing-up liquid, as well as apple cider vinegar.
Simply add a little drizzle of the washing-up liquid to a small bowl or a container, some water and top off with the vinegar.
”I tested it with white vinegar and it didn’t work as well. I think balsamic with work or adding sugar to the vinegar,” she added in the comments.
After a day or so, she demonstrated in the clip, you’ll see just how effective the cheap mixture’s been.
In her video, @allbeehive revealed that there were dozens of tiny fruit flies that had sunk to the bottom of the glass bowl.
According to one whizz, Cottage on Bunker Hill, this budget-friendly hack is effective due to one element in particular – the potent smell.
”The flies will be attracted to the scent of the vinegar and get trapped in the soapy solution.”
The expert also advised to make several such concoctions and place the bowls in different areas of your kitchen – this will ensure you catch as many flies as possible.
