Woman in her 20s killed and child hurt after being hit by car in Charing Heath – with man arrested
A WOMAN in her 20s has tragically been killed and a child injured after being hit by a car in a horror crash.
The two victims were struck down in Charing Heath, near Ashford, Kent, yesterday and a man has since been arrested.
Officers rushed to the scene at Church Hill after reports of a collision were called in at around 9.40pm on Saturday night.
The woman in her 20s was raced to hospital by emergency services where she was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
A child was also transported to hospital with non-serious injuries.
Kent Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the horror smash.
He remains in custody while investigations are ongoing.
