I gave my dark garden a glow-up on a budget – the walls were so drab until I got a load of bargain night lights from B&M
A WOMAN has shared how she transformed her garden from dark and worn to bright and refreshed in seconds.
And she did it all for just £50 after bagging some bargain night lights from none other than B&M.
Social media user @dbhome_47 decided to take part in the viral trend of spending £50 in B&M and seeing what you can get for your cash that can transform part of your home.
And as her profile is completely dedicated to “anything interior related”, including “DIY, upcycling and cleaning,” she quickly went to the home and garden aisle for some bargain buys.
@dbhome_47 then explained: “So the challenge is to complete a transformation for £50.
“And I decided to pick the garden area.”
The TikTok influencer then browsed the huge selection and went for two different types of lights.
The first was a set of eight solar-powered New York post lights that were just £14.
While the second was a packet of four Up and Down wall lights which cost £12.
Her final purchase was a pot of green paint so she could spruce up some of her garden furniture.
@dbhome_47 then continued to show her 43.7k followers how the small purchases went on to make a big difference.
First, she focused her attention on the slightly worn down green table and chairs, as she reached for the paint.
She explained: “I painted this about three years ago and I thought it was time for a little touch-up.
“I just gave this one quick coat of paint and was really happy with the coverage.”
However, she didn’t stop there, as she also chose to paint a little plant stand in the same shade so that it “fits in with the green theme.”
But the final part of the makeover was what made the most difference overall – the lighting.
Explaining she’d used adhesive and velcro, she said: “I then put up the solar lights which was pretty easy to do.”
“And I stuck these into the round to add a bit of lighting to this area,” she said as she popped the simple black lamps into a stoned part of the garden.
Finally, @dbhome_47 spruced up her plants and flower bed section by adding some of the lights inside the soil.
She said: “My plants are a bit of a mess at the moment, but I’m thinking with new flowers, this will look lovely.”
Showing the lights on at night when it was dark outside and how much light they brought, the social media user concluded: “Here it is all lit up at night.
“I am completely obsessed with the ones on the wall – I think they look lovely.”
And she wasn’t alone in her thinking, as others quickly flocked to the comment section to say they loved the new look.
One wrote: “Looks amazing!” As a second said: “You have done a great job – love the lights, will have to go to B&M.”
