My dad turned his house into a medieval castle with paint – people say his attention to detail is ‘incredible’
A MOM has shared a video of her father’s house which he has decorated to look like a medieval castle.
Using paint and a few decorations, he transformed his home into something resembling a movie set.
Mom Becca Lynn (@becca.lynn.xo) shared the video on TikTok, where she posts content about her children, her life, and recipes with her 674 followers.
The recent video of her dad’s elaborate home went viral, receiving more than 85,000 likes.
The clip opened with a shot of a corner of a room where the walls were painted to look like large stone bricks.
There were candle sconces on the wall and decorations which resembled shields and stained glass windows.
As the camera panned to the left, viewers were shown the stairwell, with more sconces and shields on display.
There was also a large decorative tapestry hung above the stairs.
As the camera continued to pan, more intricate details were revealed.
Becca’s dad created false stone archways around two paintings hung on the wall.
Other decor included bunches of dried flowers and a wrought iron clock hanging from the ceiling.
The video then moved into a different area, which Becca’s father seemed to have designated as the sword room.
A number of swords, knives, and axes were mounted onto plinths and hung as decorations.
To complete the look, the walls and ceiling were painted in a striped grey and white swirl pattern.
Shields were hung here too, with a different design on every wall.
There were a few lamps to provide a cozy glow, and vintage-looking wooden chairs with cushioned backs and seats.
The shot then moved down the stairs, where viewers saw two suits of armor: One was gold and the other was silver, and both were complete with helmets.
Next, the viewer was shown a circular room. The walls were painted to resemble a rough-hewn castle, while the ceiling was painted with a diamond-patterned star design.
Part of one wall was painted a bright red, with the edges of the color artfully distressed so it appeared to be naturally wearing away.
The close attention to detail was apparent.
Some of the faux bricks had deliberate cracks painted on, to appear as though the stones were worn down over time.
The final shot showed a large fireplace with a mantelpiece.
It was decorated with a framed painting of a woman, a large deer head, and numerous candles.
The house still had many trappings of modern life such as a large television, ceiling fans, and modern furniture.
Video viewers were huge fans of the castle, with many commenting to show their support.
One person said: “This is incredible,” to which the creator replied: “Thank you, I’ve always admired his work and the detail he put into it.”
Another wrote: “I’m dying to know what it looked like before. This is so impressive….it looks so real.”
Becca replied: “It was just a blank canvas before. He didn’t want a beige house.”
Another viewer said: “I would like to audition for the role of your sister please. I need a father like this.”
