Chart-topping Brit rapper banned from driving after being caught nearly three times the cannabis limit
CHART-topping rapper Russ Millions was banned from the road after he was nearly three times the cannabis limit.
A court heard the 27-year-old learner was with a relative, in his 50s, when he cut up a motorist who alerted police.
Millions, who was in his first car — a BMW X6 Series — was arrested after a cop smelt weed in March at Mottingham, South East London.
The rapper, real name Shylo Millwood, admitted driving under the influence and without L-plates or insurance at Bromley magistrates’ court.
Millions, of Bickley, was banned for 12 months and fined £1,000.
Colin Witcher, defending, said he “had a nice new car, which his mother will now be driving exclusively”.
“As far as his family are concerned their attitude is ‘it’s your mess, you pay, you face the consequences.’
“It will have consequences,” added Mr Witcher.
“He is not proud of it and wants to put it behind him.”
The rapper has previous convictions for possessing heroin and cannabis in 2016 and possessing cannabis in 2017, plus a record of failing to comply with court community orders.
Millions’ 2021 hit Body reached No 1, and his 2018 video for Gun Lean sparked a dance craze.
His debut hit 2018’s ‘Gun Lean’ was the first of the genre to break the top ten and Millions’ video performance inspired a dance craze, particularly mimicked by football star Jesse Lingard.
