Bruce Springsteen postpones September tour concerts over peptic ulcer as singer reveals he’s ‘heartbroken’
BRUCE Springsteen and the E Street Band have canceled all scheduled tour performances during the month of September.
The postponement comes just weeks after two concerts in Philadelphia were canceled due to the rocker’s illness.
The legendary singer is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease, according to a statement released via social media.
His doctors advised him to postpone currently scheduled shows throughout the month of September.
Springsteen commented: “Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows.
“First, apologies to our fabulous Philly fans who we missed a few weeks ago.
“We’ll be back to pick these shows up and then some. Thank you for your understanding and support.
“We’ve been having a blast at our U.S. shows and we’re looking forward to more great times. We’ll be back soon.”
Springsteen set out on a nationwide tour earlier this year.
He canceled shows on August 16 and 18 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia due to an illness.
In March, he also rescheduled another show after falling ill.
It’s unclear if the March and August illnesses are related to the peptic ulcer disease symptoms he’s currently being treated for.
Fans have taken to social media to share well wishes for Springsteen.
“Get well soon Bruce. The three shows at MetLife were magic. Thank you for that,” one person wrote.
“73 and still puts on the best show you’ll ever see! Get well soon!” someone else said.
“Get better soon, Bruce!” said another.
