Big Brother is bringing back iconic feature for new series that was scene to show’s most infamous moment
THE Big Brother hot tub is to return with the promise of more X-rated antics when the series reboots next month.
Pictures from the new set, which is still under construction, show the jacuzzi taking pride of place again in the middle of the garden.
Fans will be thrilled as the tub has seen some of the raunchiest — and funniest — moments in the history of BB.
In 2005, Makosi Musambasi feared she had fallen pregnant after a naked clinch under the water with that year’s eventual show winner Anthony Hutton.
Devotees will recall Michelle Bass’s “No Naked Jacuzzi-ness” pleas in 2004 when she spotted boyfriend Stuart eyeing up the girls as they stripped for a dip.
Former MP Ann Widdecombe raised a smile when she threw caution to the wind to join ballet dancer Wayne Sleep in the tub in 2018’s Celebrity BB.
A TV insider said: “The hot tub is almost as important a part of the house as the Diary Room.
“Fans will be delighted it’s being reinstated, particularly as some of the biggest controversies seemed to centre around it.”
The insider added: “There was the fear the producers may have lost some much-loved elements in their big show reboot.
“But they clearly see the tub as a key part of the BB infrastructure and a potential source of mischief in the new series!”
Other features in the set’s brightly-coloured outdoor area include a covered seating zone and an expanse of space likely to be grassed over, as has been the case with other BB gardens.
The house, in North West London, is being modelled to ensure people using wheelchairs have complete access, meaning a redesign at the front where contestants previously used stairs.
It is not yet known if any of the housemates will be wheelchair users but yesterday ITV released an official image of the hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu.
They will present a special launch on ITV1 before the programme airs nightly on ITV2.
