I bought a Nissan Leaf & there are SO many things I hate about my new EV – a bit of wind reduces the range massively
AN ELECTRIC car owner has revealed one of the main things he hates about his EV.
The man, who goes by @bill_retired on TikTok, decided to share the things that grate him about his new EV.
The influencer starts the video by admitting that there are many reasons he enjoys the EV experience.
“So far I’ve loved it, I love the car.
“It handles great and has lots of torque.”
However, Bill quickly moves on to his main gripe with his Nissan Leaf.
“The most important thing to me that I’ve been disappointed with has been the range.
“I usually have 120 miles of range if the car is 100% charged.
The motors guru tells viewers that he can use 90% of that range when he isn’t contending with strong winds.
However, in harsh conditions, that expected mileage will quickly begin to dwindle.
He continued: “If I’m driving into the wind, however, I’ll get 70% of that range.
“So if it tells me I have 100 miles of range I expect to get about 70 miles of range driving into the wind.
“I was not prepared for that, that was a shock to me”.
Bill offers would-be EV owners a stern warning before their local dealership hands them the keys.
He concluded: “So if you’re looking for an EV, I wouldn’t look at anything with less than 300 miles of range on a full charge.
“300 miles will let you manage the battery the way you should and will keep you from having range-xiety all the time.”
It comes after an electric car owner urged Brits to avoid buying the motors.
Daren, the man behind the YouTube account Honest Money, revealed his most hated features of the ecological option.
Elsewhere, a mechanic with over 50 years’ experience has revealed why he would never buy an electric car, saying the benefits are a myth.
Scotty Kilmer posted a clip to his YouTube channel rubbishing the idea of owning an electric vehicle (EV).
