My shower door seal looked like green algae – but I cleaned it in seconds thanks to a £2 product you can get anywhere
A CLEANING whizz has revealed exactly how people should be cleaning the dreaded seal on the shower door.
Lucy Kalice describes herself as being in her “domestic era” and often uses her social media to showcase the many tips, tricks and home hacks she’s discovered.
In one clip, she decided to tackle the seal attached to her glass shower door, which appeared to have a green algae-like substance growing through it.
“It’s that time again where I need to clean the seal on my shower door, because as you can see it’s giving mouldy b***h,” she said, starting the clip off.
Wearing a pair of turquoise gloves, she carefully removed the silicone seal, which she said looks like “it’s growing algae, which is pretty grim”.
She then slanted the end of the seal towards the bathtub and the “green stuff” immediately started dripping out.
Lucy shared: “So I gave it a hose down to get rid of as much of the green stuff as possible and then I’m obsessed with this Domestos spray at the moment, I keep using it.”
The clean queen then sprayed Domestos Bleach Cleaner Spray, which costs just £2 from Sainsbury’s, all over the seal.
“And then I got my boyfriend’s toothbrush out and started scrubbing,” she joked.
After giving it another hose down, she turned her attention towards the shower door as it was “thick with limescale”.
Using Viakal’s Limescale Remover, which can be bought for £2.50 from Waitrose, she let the spray soak in for a moment.
“And then I used my trusted Scrub Mummy to scrub it all away,” she continued. “I had to put my back into it but honestly the results were worth it.
“There is still a bit of limescale that I couldn’t get off but honestly I’m so impressed with it.”
She then put the seal back on and showed off the finished results for viewers to see.
In the caption, TikTok user @lucykalice added: “These long bathroom gloves came in VERY handy! And at least when i let it build up it makes for good content lol”.
People were quick to comment on her cleaning post as many couldn’t help but laugh at the joke she made during the clip.
“Boyfriend’s toothbrush made me burst out laughing,” one person wrote.
Another said: “i hope you got him a new toothbrush,” followed by two skeleton head emojis.
A third person then suggested: “You need a glass scraper! Would take the last little bits off the glass!”
While a fourth added: “you can buy replacement ones too if it’s really bad”.
