Coronation Street star in nightmare live TV gaffe as she scrambles onto set after getting ‘stuck in loo’
A CORRIE star had a nightmare experience on TV as she almost missed her appearance on a Channel 4 show after getting stuck in a toilet.
Shobna Gulati, 55, was due to appear on chat show Steph’s Packed Lunch when she ended up locked in the loo backstage.
Fellow soap actress Hayley Tamaddon documented the hilarious gaffe when she ended up freeing Shobna from the cubicle.
In a video which Hayley posted to Instagram, Shobna can be heard giggling as Hayley asks: “Have you locked yourself in?”
Amidst fits of laughter, the Coronation Street actress replied: “I can’t open it!”
The pair had been given a guest appearance on the lunchtime show to discuss the tour of their musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
But before they could scramble onto set the Corrie and Emmerdale actress had to free Shobna from the locked loo, using a old credit card to open the door from the outside.
That wasn’t the first mishap Hayley, 45, encountered that day – as she also posted a selfie after she had spilled water all over her lap, making it look like she wet herself.
Then later that afternoon she also dropped her Pret lunch which exploded all over the floor.
The good-humoured star documented all the mishaps for her followers on Instagram, joking sarcastically: “Our day just gets better and better!”
Hayley, 45, landed her first telly role in seven years when she was asked to play a part in Channel 5 drama The Good Ship Murder.
She announced on social media that the show was “a joy to make”, and the star seemed to enjoy getting stuck back into TV after years spent focusing on the stage.
