Channel 4 announces new dating series after MAFS and Celebs Go Dating success
AFTER the success of Married At First Sight and fresh off the latest instalment of Celebs Go Dating, Channel 4 have commissioned a brand new dating show.
The commercial network has green lit a brand new E4 three-part digital series named Dating Pool.
Fresh off his stint on Celebs Go Dating, stand-up comedian, vlogger, writer, and influencer Spuddz will front the new social media show.
According to TVZoneUK, the new Channel 4 programme follows one singleton on their cab journey as they make their way to their date.
Joining them on their ride to the romantic destination will be three prospective beau’s.
However the suitors will only have the time limit of the journey to make an impression.
If they do not impress, they will be dropped off and left to make their own way home.
As the vehicle pulls up to the date location, only one candidate will be left to make it to the date itself.
Phil Harris, Channel 4’s Head of Entertainment and Events explained that the network wants to develop new formats and recruit new talent outside of linear television.
He said: “Our social pilots were commissioned as part of our drive to grow new titles and talent outside of traditional linear slots and to test new and original ideas with younger audiences wherever they consume content.
“The performance has been heartening and we are delighted that commissioning in this way is leading to new ideas from great indies.”
The series will be produced and made by production company, Renaissance Studios.
Senior Development Producer Charlene Campbell said: “At Renaissance we create bold impactful content that represents the culture, when Renaissance envisioned this idea, we knew it would change the dating game, and we can’t wait to share this journey with you all.”
