I tried to remove my own braids and ended up chopping off ALL my own hair – I can’t believe I made such a blunder
A TikTok user has left viewers open-mouthed after she accidentally chopped off her hair while trying to remove her own braids.
@IIamBalqis is a Norwegian lifestyle influencer, who shares everything from beauty hacks to outfit inspo with her 200k TikTok followers.
But in a recent video, the 23-year-old stunner startled her fans by making quite an extreme hair faux pas.
In the clip, Balqis showed herself chopping off her braids, writing: “I mistakenly thought I was cutting synthetic hair.”
Unfortunately, she hadn’t realised that her own natural hair had been woven so deep into the plaits.
That was until she had already made the chop, at which point she looked down at the braids only to spot her own hair was in the sink alongside them.
She gasped, before exclaiming: “That’s my hair!”
“It looks like I’ve cut my hair off,” the influencer added as she looked in the mirror and observed the damage.
She then ran her fingers through her hair, noticing it was clearly thinner and shorter, before clasping her hands over her mouth and staring at the camera.
Balqis shared the video, alongside the caption: “I’M NOT OKAY, where do we go from hereee.”
It quickly racked up a whopping 95k likes, with viewers flocking to the comments to share their sympathy over her tarnished tresses.
“Girl, why would you cut it so short?” one wrote with a crying emoji.
“That’s so sad,” another added. “You are brave coz I’d just cry all day.”
It’s not the only hairy incident that’s been doing the rounds recently on TikTok.
A woman was left devastated after sharing the awful weave that her local hairdresser had fitted, including a huge chunky fringe that was absolutely nothing like she requested.
Another customer had a similar experience after asking for a chic wavy bob, only for people to compare her botched bonnet afterwards to Lewis Capaldi’s mop.
