Prince Harry’s birthday IGNORED publicly by Royals – as duke spends day with Meghan an hour’s flight away from family
PRINCE Harry’s birthday has been IGNORED publicly by the royals as he spends the day with Meghan Markle just an hour’s flight away from the family.
The Duke of Sussex saw in his 39th birthday in Dusseldorf as he supported athletes in the Invictus Games.
As he sat on the sidelines to watch Germany and Poland battle it out in volleyball, a massive crowd sang him happy birthday.
And while the prince was all smiles and thumbs-up for fans, people couldn’t help notice that his day was spent surrounded by strangers instead of with his nearest and dearest.
Radio silence fell on all members of the Firm’s social media accounts on Friday following months of rifts between Harry and the family.
The Royal Family‘s Twitter account did however post about the Duchess of Edinburgh‘s visit to Wiltshire.
And King Charles was spotted today as he made an appearance at St Paul’s Church, in Kinross, Scotland.
Meghan was snubbed last month on her 42nd birthday – with no one in the family wishing her well.
It comes after the Prince and Princess of Wales wished Meghan a happy birthday last year alongside King Charles and Camilla.
William and Kate tweeted first thing in the morning at 9.01 with Harry’s dad and stepmum sending their love just five minutes later.
Despite zero public acknowledgement of Harry’s birthday today, it is unclear whether he has called or texted anyone in the family.
It’s understood Meghan, 42, and Harry have barely spoken to the now-distance relatives since they quit the UK.
It comes after they released a number of bombshells in their Netflix docuseries, memoir and podcast.
The Sussexes are currently in Europe for the Invictus Games – just an hour’s plane ride from London.
With no visit planned to the UK while they’re over here, the pair are set to jet back to their kids in California once the event is finished.
Harry and Meghan last night knocked back beers while devouring blood sausages and Wiener Schnitzel at a secret feast in Düsseldorf.
A source told Hello! magazine the event was a “family meal” alongside the Archewell team ahead of Harry’s birthday.
Afterwards, Harry returned to their £1,600-a-night hotel to eat birthday cake.
As they turned out today, Meg donned a Zara playsuit paired with a Celine blazer and Saint Laurent sandals.
Harry wore a blue relaxed linen shirt with dark navy chinos and green trainers.
The birthday boy was also gifted something from a young girl as he took his seat courtside.
The couple’s schedule then saw them take their seats to watch former soldiers in the cycling competition before heading to the volleyball finals later tonight.
It comes as the fifth day of action at the Invictus Games saw Harry and Meghan enjoy an intimate moment as they posed for selfies.
But yesterday Meghan was seen without her engagement ring at the games for wounded veterans.
Body language expert Judi James told The Sun the pair “lacked intimacy” but are trying to show they are a “devoted couple”.
Analysing footage of the pair yesterday, Judi added: “There’s very few intimate ‘lost alone together’ moments here or capacity for having one at these venues.
“So many are looking like intentional gestures to register to the world that they are very much a devoted couple.”
