Pro cleaners reveals genius hack to remove stains and rust from white laundry – and it costs just £1.25
A CLEANING duo have shared the hack they’ve discovered to remove stains and rust from white clothes, towels and sheets.
Known as the wee scotty cleaners, one of the women, known as Clare, could be seen standing in a paisley dress in a laundry room.
Stacks of golden white sheets could be seen in front of her as Hazel, who held the camera, shared: “So here we are, our wee top tip of the day.
“It’s our laundry hack. It’s cheap and cheerful that we found the other day by accident.”
Clare then explained: “We got the orange stuff from lilies – the actual flowers – and I got it on a pair of trousers.
“And I thought, ‘what the hell is going to take that out?’ so I tried this.”
Clare then held up a green bottle of Astonish’s Mould & Mildew Blaster, which can be found from supermarkets for as little as £1.25.
“And do you know what? It took it out,” she said.
After Hazel found two marks on a pair of white sheets while ironing, they decided to put the product to the test once more.
Clare explained that it’s rust and that the way you need to tackle it is by spraying the mark down several times and letting it soak in before adding it to the washing machine.
“We’re going to give this a wee go and see how we get on,” Hazel said.
They also found a mark on a white towel, so they sprayed this down as well.
Adding a scoop full of laundry powder, Clare said she wouldn’t put any fabric conditioner in it.
After the load was completely done, they returned to take the sheets and towel out of the machine.
Lifting the towel up, they showed how the mark had completely disappeared.
“It was on the red trim wasn’t it, so let’s go,” Clare said as she held up the sheet next and looked for the mark.
Going over all the edges, Clare couldn’t find the rust stain anywhere, proving that the hack does work.
Hazel shared: “So the rust mark found at the edge of the sheet is gone and all we did was spray a wee bit of Mould & Mildew spray.”
People were quick to comment on TikTok user’s @theweescottycleaners as one person wrote: “Only use on white as I got this on my son’s purple too and it bleached it”.
They replied: “Yes, only white materials”.
Another shared: “Bet this works a treat on school tops”.
“my husband had got stains all over his white Tommy coat this got it out looks brand new amazing stuff x,” another said.
While a fourth added: “Thanks ladies! Seen just as a new white tea shirt come in off the line with a rust mark from a peg xx”.
