I was asked to give my business class seat on a flight to another passenger’s child – I didn’t feel bad about refusing
A PLANE passenger has shared how she was asked to move seats so a family could sit together.
The woman, who was seated in business class, said she wasn’t ashamed to say no.
In her video, TikTok user Sabra (@lifewithdrsabra) became the latest person to jump on the “F Them Kids” trend.
TikTokers have been utilizing a viral audio clip from the 2023 movie The Reading to illustrate their thoughts on being asked to prioritize people with children.
In the clip, a woman can be heard saying: “Girl, f**k them kids and f**k you too.”
Filming her knees as she sat on a flight, Sabra wrote: “Point of view: Flight agent asks me if I want to give up my 1A seat so a child [can] sit with their family.”
She then turned the camera on herself to reveal she was happily still sitting in her assigned seat.
“That’s a no from me, dawg,” she joked in the caption of her video.
Sabra did offer some additional context for her followers, revealing that the flight crew was able to find another solution.
“So no, I am not a terrible human being,” she explained in the viral video.
“Also, the child was like 13,” Sabra added in the clip’s caption.
In the comments section, she explained that the parents weren’t involved in the request for her to move.
However, TikTok users still seized the opportunity to rant about being asked to make sacrifices for other people’s children.
“I always reply: ‘I paid $X amount for this seat, do you have Venmo or cash?’ It’s always a no after that. An upgraded seat paid for by me is not free,” wrote one viewer.
Another follower said: “I wonder if some families actually on purpose buy the cheapest tickets, to plan to ask someone for their seat ‘I’ve got kids, please move.'”
“As a mom, I’m on your side. If they wanted to sit together they should have made sure the seats were together,” commented a third person.
