Coronation Street rocked by shock death after Paul Foreman collapses in the street
CORONATION Street fans are stunned after a shock death in tonight’s episode.
The ITV soap left fans speechless after revealing Paul Foreman’s friend Shelly Rossington had died suddenly.
Viewers met Shelly earlier this year when she was introduced to Paul at a MND support group.
She helped him come to terms with his condition – and much-reduced life expectancy.
Shelly was also running a catalogue scam to raise money for her care needs – Government provided benefits being nowhere near enough.
But in tonight’s episode that all came to an end.
In recent days Shelly had been seen with a chronic cough – and while she brushed it off, it turned out to be much more devastating.
As Paul went to visit his friend, he fell in the street and was unable to make it.
He was helped home by Todd, but later he wanted to call Shelly but there was no answer.
And it soon became clear why as over at her flat her carer let paramedics in.
He said: “She’s in the bedroom. There’s no pulse. I think she went in her sleep.”
However across Weatherfield Paul was calling Shelley to apologise for not making it around.
Getting her voicemail, he said: “Hiya Shel, it’s only me. Listen, I’m sorry I didn’t make it round in the end.
“Long story short I bought you that Edwin Hawkins album. Then I fell and broke it. What am I like, eh? Anyway I’ll give you a call in the morning yeah.”
Fans are in shock at the scenes.
One wrote: ” Aw, poor Shelly.”
A second said: “Wow in tears.”
Another added: “Poor Shell, the fact that she passed away , with no one by her side. Heartbreaking.”
