Five holidaymakers injured – including one man seriously wounded – in savage dog attack at Kinmel Bay caravan park
FIVE holidaymakers were injured in a savage dog attack at a family caravan park.
One man was seriously wounded by dog bites and taken to hospital for urgent treatment with four others treated on site for minor injuries.
Police were called to the holiday park a series of 999 calls from the park after the dog began attacking people away for the weekend away on the North Wales coast.
Officers seized the dog but said it is not believed to be a Bully XL at Palins Holiday Park, in Kinmel Bay, North Wales.
The attack took place just after 10pm on Friday before two men, aged 58 and 28, were arrested.
DS Jon Rich, of North Wales Police, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing but I would like to reassure the public that we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.
“We are conscious of the current national attention on incidents of this nature.
“The dog is not believed to be a Bully XL and we are in the process of confirming its exact breed.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any video footage to please contact us on 101 quoting incident number A149757.”
The park features a heated indoor pool, amusement arcade, bar, adventure playground and supermarket.
It sits just one mile from the popular seaside resort of Rhyl.
Police say the dog is currently being kept in kennels.
