My ‘pajama workout’ can be done without getting out of bed – it’s great for when your mental health is in the dumps
A HEALTH coach has shared an easy “pajama workout” that consists of minimal movement and the comfort of your bed.
She said that not only can it be done without getting out of bed, but it’s also a great way to take care of your mental health.
Wellness professional Simone (@simone_stocks) prioritizes mental and physical health.
In a TikTok video, she was transparent about how hard it can be to get out of bed and exercise, so she shared some alternatives.
The workouts can be done right from your bed and in your pajamas or other comfortable clothing.
“Welcome to pajama workout because putting on workout clothes feels like too much for the task. Join me,” she said.
Then, she began her first exercise, which was single-leg glute bridges that she followed up with marching glute bridges.
“This workout is great for when your mental health is in the dumps. You want to move your body a little bit, but don’t want to really get out of bed,” she admitted.
In addition, she said her method is also great for people who want to do a light movement recovery day.
After the glute bridges, she did dead bugs, supermans, and a few prone lat pull-downs.
It was the right mix of upper body, lower body, and core work.
“All of these movements can be modified to make them easier or harder depending on what your body needs,” she said.
Toward the end of the video, she incorporated a few pilates moves that included seated leg lifts, hollow holds for her abdominal muscles, and planks.
Many people appreciated Simone’s fitness alternatives.
“I do this and sometimes will put on a sports bra over the top of my sleep shirt because I’m too lazy to change,” a viewer commented.
Another chimed in: “Britney Spears always works out in her pajama shorts. It always made me feel ok doing it.”
“As a personal trainer, I love this! Even I have days where I don’t want to go to the gym and this is a great alternative!” a fan praised.
