You helped me overcome depression and sex addiction by believing in me

DEAR DEIDRE: SEX addiction was ruining my life and, at just 29, I felt I’d never have a real relationship.

I hated my call centre job and dreamed of being a carpenter. But it seemed like a hopeless ambition.

When I realised I was becoming seriously depressed, I wrote to you asking for help.

I was incredibly lonely but felt I deserved it for being a terrible person.

You told me that things could get better.

You sent me your support packs on Depression and Sex Addiction, and advised me to see my doctor.

You also recommended contacting Sex Addicts Anonymous (saauk.info, 07585 091502).

And you made me feel carpentry was a viable career and not just a pipe dream.

I just needed to look into training courses.

Since then, life has improved. I’ve started a part-time class in carpentry, which will lead to a qualification.

I’ve also got help with the sex addiction and, while I’m not cured, I am feeling much stronger and more positive.
