I’m a skin specialist – the free way you can banish under eye bags and wrinkles, it reduces stress too
A SKINCARE expert has shared her go-to technique for keeping her visage looking taut.
She touted a strategic massage for the face, which is a free way to keep an anti-aging routine.
Skincare expert and MD of SQT Bio-Microneedling Ashley Wady shared that the secret is in the lymphatic system.
Facial massages have gained popularity, with many beauty influencers like Arwa Khudhur (@arwaakhu) giving the trend a go on video platforms like TikTok.
“A lymphatic drainage massage can help relieve puffiness and fluid retention while increasing circulation and blood flow around the eye area,” she said.
“It’s great for removing the toxins and keeping your skin cells functioning healthy.
“Increased blood flow can also lead to a more vibrant and radiant appearance,” she said.
The skincare pro also added another technique that may improve overall wellbeing.
“Another technique called Effleurage is used for aiding relaxation, reducing stress, increasing blood flow and stimulating muscles.
“It’s done by massaging in an upwards motion with long stroking movement, and is a great technique that can help particularly with lymphatic drainage,” she added.
Ashley warned that while lymphatic drainage can be a game changer for many people, it’s not one-size fits all.
“Lymphatic drainage is beneficial around the eye area, but be aware it’s not for all skin types.
“If you have active breakouts or acne-prone skin, it can cause more sebum so proceed with caution,” she advised.
She recommended lymphatic drainage massage as a way to complement other skincare treatments.
“Facial massage in conjunction with a treatment can be powerful in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, too.
“Plus it can aid in reducing stress and helping you to feel more relaxed overall,” she said.
