Legendary crime series returning to screens – and it’s just months away
A LEGENDARY crime series is set to return for the latest season in just a few months.
Sky bosses have announced American homicide show True Detective will be back for a fourth season in January, after its release date was pushed back due to the WGA and SAG strikes.
A first look trailer has given a glimpse into the terrifying new case Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro are going to be faced with as the show premieres on January 14.
The unlikely duo are seen driving out to Alaska in opening scenes, where they are faced with the mysterious disappearance of eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station.
And it seems like both of the women know more than they’re letting on.
As bodies start to pile up and a strange symbol keeps cropping up every time there’s a death, it looks like both detectives will have to face darkness from their pasts to bring the truth behind the murders to light.
Fans have been left delighted by the announcement that the new season finally has a release date.
They also praised the ‘spine tingling’ trailer, and many are excited to see screen queen Jodie Foster playing a central role.
One person shared: “This looks absolutely amazing!! Nothing better than a new spine tingling season of True Detective, this looks quite spooky and I LOVE that, can’t wait.”
Another agreed: “This will be my entire personality for a while.”
Someone who has clearly been counting down to the new release wrote: “New season of True Detective inbound! Jodie foster presented with Lovecraftian horrors.
“Setting is settler-colonial petrochemical resource extraction frontier shrouded in perpetual darkness. This is not a drill!”
A fourth exclaimed: “True Detective is like the darker more brutal cousin of Fargo… I f***ing love it!!! This looks like it’s gonna be NASTY GRITTY!!!”
Someone else praised the line up of actors, saying: “I can’t cope we have a date of release for Jodie Foster in True Detective and I am BUZZING!!! Also look at that cast!”
