Coronation Street star seen for the first time in three years after mysterious soap disappearance
CORONATION Street star Louiza Patikas has been seen for the first time in years after playing medical centre busybody Moira.
The actress – who is best known for starring in long-running show The Archers – smiled for a rare social media snap.
Louiza has played Helen Titchener on the radio drama since 2008 – appearing in over 800 shows.
She looked in good spirits as she posed alongside voice artist and co-star Susie Riddell.
The pair were pictured leaving the BBC studios in London on Tuesday.
Susie wrote: “What Larks! Louiza Patikas & I had a lovely time representing The Archers and Lark Rise To Ambridge on BBC Radio 4 Front Row last night.”
Back in 2017, Louiza made her debut in the ITV soap as Moira, an office manager at Weatherfield Medical Centre.
Moira immediately clashed with Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) when she lands a job as a receptionist at the surgery.
The star decided to leave the cobble in 2020 after 88 episodes.
Before joining the show, Corrie producer Kate Oates added: “I’m so excited to welcome Louiza to Corrie.
“Louiza is no stranger to long-running drama; but as Moira, viewers will get to see another side to her – and enjoy her amazing talent for comedy.”
While Louiza said in a statement: “I’m cock-a-hoop to be working on Coronation Street.
“It’s a fantastic show which I’ve always loved for its superb writing and iconic characters.”
The star knows a thing or two about appearing on long-standing dramas.
Louiza has starred on BBC Radio 4 drama The Archers for more than 15 years, and in 2016 gained publicity for the character’s involvement in a domestic abuse storyline.
She has also made appearances on Granchester and has enjoyed some film success in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and GoldenEye in 1997.
