Five explosive ITV Emmerdale theories: new killer in the Dales, shock pregnancy and mystery exit explained
SOAP fans and villagers are all gearing up for October’s upcoming Super Soap Week.
Many characters in Emmerdale are keeping secrets but it’s all expected to finally unfold this week. Here’s what could happen.
1. Killer vicar twist
Charles Anderson (portrayed by Kevin Mathurin) framed his father Victor for theft in an attempt to finally get rid of him.
But in a shocking twist, the former criminal was found dead in St Mary’s Church after suffering from a brain aneurysm.
The vicar has struggled with his guilt over his secret interference.
This week on ITV, however, he finally decides to make amends with his father in the midst of tear-jerking funeral scenes.
Coming up, an honest and emotional Charles gives his father the eulogy he deserves as conflicted Claudette watches on.
But will she be able to forgive her son for his actions?
While this remains to be seen, Charles’ mean streak hasn’t gone unnoticed on social media.
Many X users were shocked to see an overwhelmed and angry Charles lash out against Thomas King (James Chase) in The Woolpack, considerably hurting and humiliating him until Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) stepped in to calm him down.
Prior to Tom, Charles took Alex Moore as a target and revealed how threatening and violent he could be.
With his son Ethan Anderson set to become a major villain in the eponymous village, as teased by actor Emile John during last week’s Inside Soap Awards, fans of the Yorkshire-based drama are expecting Charles’ anger to become a real and potentially deadly issue.
Many of them have asked for more residents to be killed off on our screens following Victor’s death – will they get what they wish for?
Could Charles kill someone in a fit of rage, forcing Ethan to help him cover up the crime despite his work as a lawyer?
2. Sex secret exposed
Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) decided Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) was the one for him and proposed to her, despite finding out she was not pregnant after all.
The pair have been a close-knitted family with their son Reuben.
But how will Chloe react to Mack’s past tryst with former wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins)?
This week, viewers are speculating that the Woolpack landlady will tell Chloe she recently slept with Mackenzie as the love triangle is due to reach a tragic level.
Coming up, having heard Mack’s engagement news, Charity turns on the charm with flustered Liam demanding he take her out that evening.
Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) is frosty as he serves Charity and Liam on their date at the B&B, due to the village GP’s affair with Wendy Posner.
But when Chloe and Mack arrive and are seated on the table next to them, jealousy soon rises and Charity’s façade breaks as she lashes out at Liam.
The next day, despite her best efforts to avoid Chloe, Charity is dragged into a conversation in the playground.
Things take a turn when both women hear a cry from Reuben and a hot temperature makes paranoid Chloe worry for her son.
Soon recalling his meningitis, and with no one else to ask, a panicking Chloe begs reluctant Charity to take her and unwell Reuben to the hospital.
Once there, guilty and awkward Charity does her best to comfort thankful Chloe.
After Reuben is given the all clear, an overwhelmed Chloe is glad to be clearing the air with Charity, who is awash with guilt.
Will she take the opportunity to come clean?
Soap bosses have an explosive car stunt lined up for Emmerdale’s Super Soap Week, beginning October 9, 2023.
Charity, Chloe and Mackenzie are due to be involved in a shocking car crash and will be left hanging off a cliff, prompting fans to believe the fiery redhead could be killed off as her beau struggles to save her.
Could it all be triggered by Charity’s dramatic confession?
3. Surprise pregnancy
Some fans have taken things a step further by theorising history could repeat itself with Charity finding out she is carrying Mackenzie’s love child.
“Imagine Charity falling pregnant with Mack’s baby now that would be Karma. Watch out Chloe, be scared Mack”, one viewer commented on X.
Charity and Mackenzie were in a committed relationship when the heartthrob wound up in Chloe’s bed during a drunken evening.
The former couple had gone through the loss of their unborn baby as Charity suffered from an ectopic pregnancy.
Chloe later revealed she was pregnant and decided to keep the baby, although many believed Mack couldn’t be the father.
Shaken, Mackenzie asked for Charity’s hand and Chloe gave birth to baby Reuben on their wedding day.
The tot then battled bacterial meningitis and Charity supported Chloe throughout the ordeal before eventually finding out Mackenzie was the father.
Will there be another shock pregnancy?

4. Cain and Caleb’s mystery motives
The brothers respectively portrayed by Jeff Hordley and Will Ash left the village to go on a mysterious mission, despite Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) trying to discourage her husband from leaving.
Both Cain and Caleb are set t return to the village this week
Despite a phase of their mysterious plan being completed, Cain and Caleb remain on edge.
In later scenes, Cain and Caleb head into the abandoned Wylie’s Farm on mysterious business – but what are they up to?
Could Moira get to the bottom of things?
Will Cain let her in on their secret?
A new theory has emerged online about Cain and Caleb’s mission – and it could have a link to Tom King.
The hunk was recently attacked after an outing with his girlfriend Belle Dingle.
He was not only left beaten and bloodied but his fancy car was also stolen.
Viewers have taken to social media, speculating both Cain and Caleb left Emmerdale to find the vehicle as part of the latter’s new car firm venture with Nate Robinson and his son Nicky.
“Think they are going after Tom’s car”, one viewer penned.
“Cain probably finds out who stole Tom’s car and brings Caleb along”, another added while a third fan jumped in: “Something to do with the car theft maybe.”
Whatever the case, actor Will Ash teased a big plot ahead during a chat with The Mirror at the Inside Soap Awards 2023.
And according to him, the Dingle family will have to deal with the fallout.
“All I can say is obviously there is something that is happening that we don’t know about yet, but it’s gonna affect all of the Dingles so there is a lot to come out.”
5. Horrific revenge against rapist
Elsewhere in the Dales, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) continues to struggle in the aftermath of her rape.
But one villager could bring her the support she deserves and needs.
Coming up, reconnecting with Craig (Ben Addis) at his offices, Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) asks questions about why he was let go from his work experience.
Craig uses this opportunity to manipulate the story to suit his fabricated version of events, which soon leads the lad to believe something has happened between the CEO and his stepmother Lydia.
The entrepreneur is grimly satisfied to have manipulated Samson as he welcomes him back to his work experience.
Speaking too loudly and too openly on the phone to Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) outside the Dingles’, Samson is overheard by Mandy (Lisa Riley), and she confronts him about what’s going on with Lydia and Craig.
Believing from Samson that Lydia and Craig may have been having an affair, Mandy’s determined to find out the truth.
The following day, Lydia is horrified when an upset Mandy confronts her and asks if she’s been having an affair with Craig.
Angry and upset, Lydia rushes from the home in a panic after shutting down worried but unconvinced Mandy’s accusations.
Later on, Kim Tate (Claire King) is alarmed to see Lydia sobbing and, unable to withstand Craig’s lies, the cleaner finally reveals what happened to her.
Realising her life has changed forever, Lydia’s heartbroken when Kim eventually tells her she’ll need to tell Sam about the rape.
But will Kim’s pleading get through to Lydia?
Viewers have been theorising that Kim may be the one to murder Craig as revenge for raping Lydia.
But could her plan to avenge her cleaner be more elaborate?
Kim is known for being capable of murder but could she, instead, organise psychological warfare on Craig by blackmailing him to convince the businessman to stay away from Lydia without getting her hands too dirty?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
