Strictly fans spot ‘feud’ as star fails to clap as Layton Williams tops the leaderboard
STRICTLY Come Dancing fans spotted what could be a feud between two of this year’s stars.
The celebrities returned to the dancefloor on Saturday to perform live for the second time this series.
Nikita Kuzman and Layton Williams blew both fans and the judges away with their quickstep – bagging an impressive 36 points.
Amanda Abbington performed a jaw-dropping salsa with pro partner Giovanni Pernice – also giving them a score of 29.
But Layton pipped Amanda off the top spot, with a combined total of 65 after the first two weeks, compared to Amanda’s 61 points.
After the Layton and Nikita’s performance, the duo rejoined the rest of their co-stars on the balcony.
Co-host Claudia Winkleman congratulated the pair, while the rest of the celebrities and pros applauded them.
But some fans were quick to point out that Amanda “failed to clap” and looked unimpressed after she was bumped off the top of the leaderboard.
One wrote: “Yeah they were good but did anyone else see her face at the end when Layton knocked her off the top spot – she didn’t applaud them.”
Another posted: “Yep, neither of them clapped for him and they both looked miserable. They don’t seem like good sports to me. Imagine coming in second and not being happy about it.”
A third added: “Amanda showed little to no emotion while Layton and Nikita were talking to Claudia and receiving their scores, I can’t unsee it now.”
After Saturday’s live show, the first Strictly elimination of the series saw Nikita Kanda and Les Dennis selected to go head-to-head in a dance-off after coming in bottom of the public vote.
But it was Nikita that the judges unanimously decided to save on the hit BBC One show after her dance to Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) – with TV star Les’ Samba failing to impress during the dreaded dance-off.
This week the popular dance competition covers a classic theme for its third live show, with Movie Night set to get pulses racing as the competition heats up.
