I’m 23 and my mum, 56, looks so young she’s constantly mistaken for my sister – we wear the same clothes too
AN UBER close mum and daughter have revealed their bond is so strong, they dress the same – despite having a 33 year age gap.
Catherine Galasso-Vigorito, 56, is often mistaken for her 23-year-old daughter Gabriella’s sister.
The pair wear matching outfits every day – something that started when Gabriella was a baby.
Catherine would buy the same outfit for her three daughters and herself as it was often easier, and she found it “fun”.
While her daughters Lauren, 24 and Sophia, 18, didn’t enjoy looking the same as their mum, Gabriella loved it.
The pair are now inseparable and continue to match their style to look “glamorous” in unison.
Their staple ensemble is a dress and heels, with Catherine even wearing the same size as Gabriella.
The family live in Connecticut, US, where Gabriella works as a cosmetologist and content creator, while Catherine is an author.
We’re always matching,” Gabriella beamed. “It’s different and causes a stir where we go.
“We’re both upbeat and bubbly. We both do everything together.
We get our nails done together. We go shopping, we travel together, and we create a vision board together.”
Catherine is chuffed when people mistake her as her daughter’s sister.
“We look the exact same,” the mum-of-three said. “We are the exact same size.
“We’re bonded by our clothes as well as our hearts.”
Gabriella and Catherine are both size XXS, fitting best in size 2 to 4 UK clothes, wear size 5 shoes and are 5ft 5ins and 5ft 6ins.
They describe their fashion as “fabulous” with bright pink colours and lots of sparkles, with Catherine adding: “We like glamorous dresses.”
The pair will match every day they can – besides days Gabriella has to wear black for her job at a salon – and even have matching robes.
The pair recently walked in a show in New York Fashion Week together and spent the week donning formal dresses.
“I said I wanted to audition for fashion week and mum said ‘let me do it too’,” Gabriella said.
“We wore beautiful, purple dresses with big, poofy sleeves.
“We even matched the event – which was purple.
“Walking out in matching sparkly dresses and stilettos people weren’t discreet taking photos.”
Gabriella is usually the one to pick out their outfits and always does her mum’s hair and make-up – just like hers.
The duo hopes to design a clothing or jewellery line together in the future and match on the red carpet together.
Gabriella hopes to follow in the footsteps of her mum, a former Miss Connecticut USA – and is being coached by her.
