This Morning’s Josie Gibson breaks down in tears as she replaces Ben Shephard to present with Holly Willoughby
THIS Morning star Josie Gibson broke down in tears as she returned to the sofa alongside co-host Holly Willoughby.
The Bristolian presenter, 38, and Holly, 42, welcomed two young carers to the ITV show on Monday morning.
Ariel, 11 and 12-year-old Leo appeared on the programme with their mum’s.
Shining a light on their incredible contribution, Holly said: “Christine and Ariel – Christine, you served with the army in Afghanistan on the frontline and in 2020 you were formally diagnosed with PTSD.”
“In 2018, I had a massive depressive episode at work, I heard a loud bang and I was working at a reception and a filed dropped and I felt that I had to dive under the desk.
“It was at that moment that I couldn’t CBT my way out of it, so that’s when I reached out for help.”
Josie was blown away by the young boys hard work and said: “You don’t like to be called a carer, you like to be called a team mate.”
Ariel said: “When I think of carer, I think of someone only caring for someone who has a physical disability, but a team mate sounds more loyal and even closer than family.”
The lad said he is always there to “give him mum a cuddle” and “check she is okay” and to take her out of certain situations if they are “too stressful”.
Josie began to well up as she praised the youngster for being “amazing” and “incredible”.
Leo also shared his inspirational story with viewers after his mum collapsed while having an epileptic fit.
He said: “I heard splashing and coughing and I saw she was having a fit and I put her head above the water and I pulled the plug.”
Josie gushed: “You are incredible, you saved your mum’s life.”
Holly said: “We think you’re rather wonderful and anyone watching this will be going what remarkable children, you must be very proud of them.”
While ex Big Brother star Josie struggled to contain her emotions as her eyes continued to well up and her voice broke.
She added: “And you two are wonderful Ariel and Leo, you should be proud of yourself.”
