I used a £2 beauty buy from Temu to clean a filthy oven – it’s unusual but it really works
A CLEANING whizz has revealed the £2 beauty buy she got that cleaned the oven door without issue.
Courtney often uses her social media account to share nifty tips and tricks, especially when it comes to cleaning a home.
And in one such video, she revealed the grimy oven of one of her clients, who told her: “The oven’s clean, the glass is just that colour”.
But Courtney decided to work her magic on the kitchen appliance and got to work on getting all the build-up off.
She used a double-edged razor, which can easily be bought from Temu for just £2, to do the job.
Courtney simply took the razor and scraped the top layer of the oven off, revealing the clear glass underneath.
She then took a yellow microfiber cloth to remove the excess leftover before spraying it down with some kitchen cleaner.
Showing off the finished result, viewers could see how she had completely transformed the oven from grimy and gross to sparkling clean.
In the caption, TikTok user @courtneysdays added: “These are one of the most satisfying cleans to do”.
People were quick to comment on her hack as one person wrote: “should’ve cleaned half and if they complained say oh no it’s fully clean it’s just that colour”.
Another asked: “What was their reaction then!” to which she replied: “Absolute disbelief”.
Another argued: “Why can’t I find a cleaner like this?!? Every co I’ve hired doesn’t clean as well on their deep and I do on the daily cleans”.
Courtney replied: “We’re a rare breed from what I’ve heard”.
A fourth posted: “I should do this bc my parents oven is literally so old they had it before they got married”.
According to ovenu.co.uk, you can use a razor blade to remove grease and grime from the oven door.
They state: “To cleanse the oven door of baked-on grease and long stubborn long-standing dirt, use a razor blade to carefully scrape it away.
“Use the flat edge of the blade, ensuring you don’t use the corner as this can result in the oven glass being heavily scratched.”
Using a razor is not the only method to clean an oven door however, as experts say you can use a degreasing multipurpose cleaner or glass cleaner with a microfiber cloth.
And if you’re looking for a chemical-free method, many people swear by using baking soda with lemon and vinegar.
