Love Island star reveals he’s returning to normal job after being dropped by his agent over ‘embarrassing’ behaviour
LOVE Island star Mitchel Taylor has revealed that he has returned to his day job after being dropped by his agent.
It comes after the reality star, 27, was thrown out of a party and accused of making homophobic comments, according to reports.
Mitch faced up to the controversy in a video message last week on TikTok, admitting he didn’t conduct himself in the right way at makeup brand Space NK’s event in London last week.
Since his apology, Mitch admitted that he plans to return to his job as a gas engineer.
During an Instagram Q&A, one fan said: “Are you going to be doing gas/plumbing work again?”
Mitch replied: “100% gonna go back. #gassuperhero.”
The Sheffield lad came under fire following his “behaviour” at star-studded event last month.
However, he vehemently denied using homophobic language and insisted he didn’t throw money at a homeless person as had also been claimed.
His apology and denials have done little to appease his management though.
A source told MailOnline: “His management have parted way with him. He’s only been out of the villa two months and they can’t put up with it.”
Mitch’s villa pal Zach Noble also issued a statement calling the whole thing “embarrassing” and denying wrongdoing, which was corroborated by his friend, who took full responsibility.
Multiple witnesses said the pair turned up uninvited and insulted guests inside after shouting “we’re the most famous people in here”.
Mitch said in his apology video: “Hey everyone, I’m making the statement because obviously over the weekend there were a lot of accusations and I want to start by apologising to Zach because these accusations have nothing to do with him.
“They are solely about me so I do want to talk about each one individually and put it to bed and give my side of the story.
“The first accusation I want to talk about is the words, ‘we are the most famous people in here’ that is actually true.
“I said that to Zach as a bit of banter but it’s been taken the wrong way by other people and I admit it wasn’t really that funny.
“I was trying to have a bit of a laugh and a bit of a joke.”
He then turned to “the biggest accusation” and insisted “I am not homophobic, I never have been.”
“This is probably the biggest accusation out of them all that I was homophobic,” he said.
“I was speaking to an influencer at the event and my words to them were I fancied you when you were straight. I can see how that comes across.
“I am really bad with my words sometimes I was just really nervous to meet this person because I am a fan of them and I do apologise.
“It’s just sometimes when I’m in scenarios like that I can’t really get my words out correctly and I was just trying to be as respectful to that person as I could and I kind of got it completely wrong.”
In a now deleted video, the woman at the bash claimed she witnessed them throwing money at a homeless man and being ‘incredibly homophobic’ before the event organisers took action and removed them.
She claimed: “The event was slightly soiled on by two Love Islanders who are just the most vile pieces of s*** that I believe could ever have walked the planet.
“Turns out they weren’t even invited, they just turned up. Do you know what they said? I don’t even know if I can say this out loud without cringing because I’m embarrassed for them: ‘We’re actually the most famous people here’.
“They’re bowling around like the most famous people there, which is embarrassing.”
