Primark has made a huge change to it’s sizing – and people are simultaneously in hysterics and horrified
PRIMARK has made a huge change to its sizing and shoppers don’t know how to feel about it.
Fans of the fast fashion retailer have called the changes a “shopping fail” and many moaned they can’t find any clothes to fit them.
But others say the new sizing system makes them feel slimmer than ever.
Primark has increased its sizes, as one shopper discovered its size small is now designed to fit a UK size 10 to 12.
Previously, its size small was for women who wore a UK size 6 or 8.
That means XXS is for sizes 4 to 6, XS is for sizes 6 to 8, medium is 12 to 14, large is 14 to 16, XL is 18 to 20 and XXL is 22 to 24.
Ayla from London purchased some of Primark’s famous seamless shorts and leggings thinking they would fit, but was sorely mistaken.
She said: “I don’t pay attention to the number but this time I grabbed small thinking it will fit me, only to get home to find they’re all too big.”
Ayla took to TikTok to share her dismay over the new sizing system and other shoppers were quick to express their opinions on it.
“Primark is the only shop where I can be a size 8 and a size 18 at the same time,” one penned in the comments.
“Make it make sense.”
“Primark sizing is so odd,” a second said.
“Some things are so different and fit so differently.”
“Their sizing is getting on my nerves,” a third moaned.
“Nothing ever fits right.”
A common complaint with Primark’s sizing in Ayla’s comment section was that it does not offer a size 8 to 10.
“They don’t do a size 8 to 10 which is absolutely ridiculous as I feel many women fall between that,” one woman criticised.
Another called the lack of size 8 to 10 “a joke”.
However, the sizing system was a hit with some shoppers who said it helps them “feel skinny”.
“Blew me away,” one beamed. “I feel so skinny at Primark now.”
