Emmerdale fans terrified for Chas’ life after sick hidden identity twist
EMMERDALE fans have been left terrified for Chas’ life after a sick hidden identity twist.
Tonight’s episode saw Chas – played by Lucy Pargeter – struggling on the fifth anniversary of daughter Grace’s death, which came just minutes after her birth.
Chas had hoped her ex – and Grace’s dad – Paddy Kirk would spend the afternoon with her after they went to their daughter’s grave and paid their respects.
However, after Paddy told Grace how much he and her mummy loved her, he told a crestfallen Chas he was taking girlfriend Mandy Dingle for lunch.
Chas put a brave face on it, but as she headed off, a man in a black suit stepped into view, having been watching her.
Emmerdale viewers will know the man as Harry, a new villain linked to fellow newcomer Corey and who first appeared in August.
However, when he introduced himself to Chas in the Hop later in the episode, he said his name was Simon, and was nothing short of charming.
Chas had already had a fair few wines before he came along, but she was quick to share a drink with him before she brought him back to her place later on.
Thankfully, a conversation about children made her realise she was in no position to go to bed with a man she hardly knew, and ‘Simon’ chivalrously said he would just sleep on the couch.
But as Chas went to get him a duvet, he picked up a picture of her with brothers Cain and Caleb – who he had beaten to a pulp a few weeks ago – and had a face like thunder.
The soap’s producer Laura Shaw previously promised “twists and turns” along the way for some Emmerdale residents with the arrival of Harry, played by Robert Beck.
She said: “We are thrilled to have Robert joining the Emmerdale family to play Harry.
“Dangerous and unpredictable, Harry will bring drama and peril to some of our most loved villagers, with some twists and turns along the way that our viewers really won’t be expecting!”
With this in mind, and Harry clearly out to get the Dingle brothers, many took to X – formerly Twitter – to fear for Chas, who looks like she could be getting caught up in the crossfire.
One begged her to not let him stay over, writing: “Chas, don’t do it! Come on!”
Another added: “Why is he sleeping on the sofa? Just go home!”
A third tweeted: “Chas inviting the local gun wielding psycho back. She’ll never learn.”
Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
