Aston Merrygold pays tribute as ‘original JLS member’ dies at age 35
POP STAR Aston Merrygold has paid tribute to a backing dancer who performed with his group JLS.
The singer, 35, took to social media to share a heartfelt message after performer Jack Pointer Mackenzie tragically died at the aged 35.
The talented dancer toured with the pop group from 2009 to 2021, after JLS shot to fame on The X Factor.
Aston penned: “RIP captain,” with a prayer hand and raised hand emojis.
He added: “Original JLS member.”
Aston, who’s bandmates consist of Marvin Humes, Ortise Williams and JB Gill, shared another touching post.
The father-of-two shared a video of Jack showcasing his incredible dance skills on stage with JLS.
He wrote: “Captain Jack always with the vibe from 2009 and beyond!!
“A phenomenal team member!”
Base Dance Studios took to Instagram to share a tribute message, alongside a photo of Jack, which read: “A unique gift, who shall be sorely missed. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
“Jack Nathaniel Pointer-Mackenzie.”
Many fans were quick to post their condolence messages.
