I’m the 100-year-old mom of a famous skincare guru – my must-have products, I’ve used the same night serum for years
MOTHERS and daughters have traded skincare tips for centuries, but one 100-year-old woman has her son to thank for her youthful glow.
Carole Roth is mom to Peter Thomas Roth, whose skincare products are favorites of beauty shoppers everywhere — but no one loves his line more than his first and biggest fan.
Carole turned 100 this year — and she credits her decades younger-looking skin to her son’s products.
Peter even threw the peppy centenarian and a Holocaust survivor a star-studded party in Miami.
She’s one proud mama, and it shows all over her face — literally.
Always stepping out in a full face of makeup and fashionable attire, Carole has only one philosophy when it comes to her skincare routine: more is more.
As she explained, the proof that Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skincare does the trick is in the pudding — or her youthful-looking face.
“Peter’s products are fabulous,” she gushed to The U.S. Sun.
“He selects powerful ingredients that are extremely effective, and the results are simply remarkable — just look at me!
“He was born to be in the skincare business and knows exactly what his customers need and cares about when it comes to their skin.
“I’ve been Peter’s number-one fan and most loyal customer since day one!”
While she has used all of the products over the years, Carole, who describes her skin now as being desperately dry, said that she is never done reevaluating her routine.
She also joked that the one thing she no longer needs is his acne formulas.
“Every time Peter comes out with a new product, we review my skincare routine and may add a product or take one out.
“We’ve narrowed it down to 16 products that I use religiously, like his Retinol Fusion PM Night Serum, which I’ve been using for over a decade.
“I’ve also been using the Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel since it was launched.
“Sixteen products might seem like a lot, but at my age, I need all the help I can get!”
With her fresh-faced look, Carole was ready to get her 100th year started right.
To mark the momentous occasion, Peter hosted an around-the-world-themed birthday extravaganza for his mom — with quite a few shirtless men and even a golden throne included.
Also in attendance were Real Housewives of Miami star Adriana De Moura and former tennis champion Martina Navratilova.
And Carole had the most glam glow-up of all due to her holy grail products.
“I put my retinol on all over my face and body every single night,” she said.
“It feels so luxurious that once I’ve finished putting it on, I put it on again, and even again!
“More is always better, darling!”
Looking at her ageless appearance, the skincare guru’s mom might not just be his biggest fan, but also his most profitable model yet.
She sometimes even makes appearances on his Facebook Live videos.
Peter, who launched his brand in 1993, sells his products at Sephora and Ulta stores around the country.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, Peter revealed that he and his mother actually have some skincare steps in common — including using his brand’s cleansing gel.
“It’s super strong and aggressive and I use it all the time. It has salicylic acid and glycolic acid. I also use a more gentle cleanser with it.”
Sunscreen is also important, and he suggested that anyone who wants to look as good as his glam mom should try to his $54 Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer.
Moisturizer isn’t just for your face, either.
In fact, the brand founder pointed to an often-overlooked spot that can show how old someone is.
“The hands are a dead giveaway for age, and those signs come out when you’re older,” he said.
He suggests using his moisturizing products on hands, too.
The skincare pro stressed that everyone should figure out their own system for achieving their ultimate skin, which is why his other moisturizers also include Vitamin C and glycolic acid.
“That means using a retinol serum and a vitamin C moisturizer, which I would call two different franchises. It just depends on what someone wants to do with themselves.”
But the main pillars of Peter’s brand are staples: a wash tone, moisturized serum, nighttime cream, and daytime cream.
For those who want to add some extra elements to their routine, his full line also offers plumpers and masks.
“I like to create products that can be used on their own or that don’t have to be part of a routine where you have to use five other things with it,” he said.
In order to have the same striking skincare results as Carole, it’s crucial to start your preventative routine in your 20s.
Peter explained: “Young people have the same concerns as people in their 80s. They want to get rid of their lines and look plumped up or more textured.”
He said that unlike 10 or 20 years ago, they are more educated on ingredients and prevention techniques.
“They are looking for peptides and enzymes and retinol today.”
Though he’s not a fan of fragranced products, he was willing to add a scent to one item that also happens to be a favorite of Carole’s: the $60 pumpkin enzyme mask.
And while it might have a fall feel, it’s available all year round.
Consisting of pumpkin enzymes, this miracle mask eats away at dead skin.
He explained how its little white beads that dermatologists swear by and gentle properties exfoliate the skin both chemically and enzymatically.
