I got the worst manicure – it was the second nail fail in a year, I just need to get rid of my fingers at this point
A GOOD nail technician can usually recreate artwork much easier after looking at a photo rather than just listening to a client explain what they want.
However, one beauty lover was left disappointed by her finished manicure despite showing a snap of the relatively simple design.
Emii Ervine (@emiiervine) tried a new nail salon after a previous artist left her hands looking like toes due to their poor work.
She has over 14,000 followers on TikTok, where she routinely posts about her love of beauty and living with alopecia.
She took to the social media platform with a snap of the photo that she showed her new nail tech before sitting down for her manicure.
The image showed shiny oval-shaped nails with a blush pink polish and a small gold flakes detail.
Emii looked unimpressed as she showed the reference picture before revealing what she received at her appointment.
She played a hysterical viral voiceover in the background by TikToker Kneely Knight.
The voiceover said: “I’m literally crying over my nails right now because they’re so ugly.
“Oh my God, I can’t. This is what I wanted, these are the pastels.”
She then showed a photo of the terrible outcome that her nail technician had charged her for.
“And this is what I got,” the voice screeched.
Having opted not to get extensions, her nails were considerably shorter than the reference image and had been filed much rounder than she had hoped for.
The artist had also applied thick blobs of acrylic to her nails and made so much of a mess with the paint that it was even on her skin.
She shook her head in disbelief as her nails looked nothing like the design she had requested and didn’t include the gold flakes.
She captioned the post: “Round 2.”
She included the hashtags #Iwishthiswasajoke, #nailfail, and #greenscreen.
“I just need to get rid of my fingers,” Emii said.
The post went viral with over 8,900 views, hundreds of likes, and comments from people who were left in shock by her bad luck with nail technicians.
One person wrote: “I don’t know how you keep walking out of these places with the end products. Ain’t no way I’d leave without them being exactly what I wanted.”
Another said: “I think you need longer nails to achieve that look since your nail bed is so wide. Good luck in the future girl! I’m rooting for ya!”
A third commented: “Get a coffin nail shape – it will elongate your fingers. This keeps happening because of the natural shape of your nail bed.”
A fourth chimed in: “WTF again I know I’m late but hell no. I wish I could go with you this is ridiculous. Especially with the price of nails…”
Another said: “As a nail artist, the best advice I can give you is to do your research and look at portfolios on social media first.
“Find someone in your area that is an individual nail artist that specializes in quality and don’t go to in and out nail chop shops.”
Emii’s awful nail appointment came after she had previously visited another nail salon in the hopes of getting a marble design done.
Her followers were quick to offer their advice after her nail technician failed to recreate her desired look.
Instead of a cute blue and pink ombre design, her pointer finger was painted nude and the remaining others were polished blue.
The nails looked chunky after too much acrylic was applied and the square shape looked clunky.
