Emmerdale fans demand ‘dull as dishwater’ characters are axed from soap – fuming ‘get rid of them!’
CLAUDETTE Anderson recently found out about her son Charles’ indirect involvement in her husband Victor’s death.
But the emotional storyline has failed to get the appreciation of Emmerdale fans. Many have made shock pleas to soap bosses.
The village vicar portrayed by Kevin Mathurin in the ITV show tried to frame his criminal father Victor for theft in a last-ditch attempt to get rid of him.
For several weeks, Victor had been trying to get closer to his estranged family and managed to build bridges with his long lost wife Claudette (played by Flo Wilson).
However, when he was accused of stealing a necklace belonging to the late Rishi Sharma, Victor fled the family home to avoid the authorities and was later found dead in St Mary’s Church.
In recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based drama, Charles decided he couldn’t live with the guilt of his actions and confessed everything to his mother.
As a result, Claudette initially banned Charles from the funeral but allowed him to attend and give Victor a proper eulogy when the fill-in past called her late husband the wrong name.
Charles got changed and gave Victor a heartfelt eulogy, forgiving him for their troubled relationship.
Despite this, Claudette made it clear – she would never forgive Charles.
Can he repair his relationship with his mother?
While this remains to be discovered, many soap fans believe they’ve seen enough of the storyline.
Viewers swarmed over to Twitter, rebranded as X, to share their thoughts and they’ve pleaded with bosses to get rid of the Andersons.
“Please get rid of boring Charles and miserable Claudette. Nobody cares about these dull as dishwater characters”, one fan commented before adding: “Send Belle and Tom with them as well why you are at it.”
A second viewer echoed: “Emmerdale is so DULL lately! Scrap the dull vicar story yawn.”
Things may be about to change for viewers as Emmerdale is gearing up for Super Soap Week.
Spoilers for next week have teased an explosive string of episodes which will involve a shocking climax to Charity Dingle, Chloe Harris and Mackenzie Boyd’s love triangle.
Mack and Chloe have been a couple for a handful of months after it was revealed he was the father of her son Reuben and they recently became engaged.
But that didn’t stop him from sleeping with former wife Charity behind his partner’s back as unresolved feelings resurfaced between them.
