My grandma is 71 and still has long, healthy hair – her must-haves include a seedy DIY mask, she’s ‘goals’
A GLAMOROUS woman with thick black hair has revealed that she follows a haircare routine that worked for her grandmother.
Jenny (@jennyxo_x) shared a snap of her grandma’s shiny waist-length hair after already leaving people envious of her own beautiful locks.
She has garnered over 886,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares haircare advice using natural products.
She took to the social media platform running her fingers through her grandmother’s hair to show that the advice she recommends has proven results.
“My grandma is 71 and look at her hair,” read the text over the video.
Jenny’s grandmother’s straight gray hair looked voluminous and glossy as she parted it into sections to show that she wasn’t wearing any extensions.
Jenny said: “She’s the one that has taught me everything on how to grow healthy hair.
“This is what she uses; rosemary water and oil, aloe vera, and flaxseed.”
She revealed that her grandmother only trims the ends of her hair and always wears protective styles such as a loose braid or hair claw.
She said the 71-year-old routinely oils her hair and uses a herbal shampoo and conditioner.
Jenny said flaxseed can be used to make a DIY hair mask and her grandmother doesn’t straighten her hair more than once a week.
“Umm what [heart eyes],” she captioned the post.
She included the hashtags #hairgrowth, #hairloss and #hairtok.
The video was watched over 2.8 million times and received over 328,000 likes.
Commenters were eager to know the exact brands her grandma swears by and asked for advice on how to combine the ingredients.
Jenny promised that she would try to get her grandma to film a video with her that went more in-depth about her haircare routine.
One person commented: “I started eating flaxseed meal with my oatmeal and I’ve noticed my hair got longer outta nowhere.”
Another wrote: “Wow her hair is so beautiful and it looks so smooth!”
A third said: “Turn her around because that can’t be true, her hair is so shiny and long. I ain’t never seen anyone with hair like hers at that age.”
A fourth penned: “Goals, share her routine please.”
Jenny followed up the video with two photos of her grandmother that were taken when she was younger after several commenters claimed her lengthy hair was due to genetics.
In the first photo, her grandma appeared to have thick hair that fell just below her ears.
Her dark hair had grown past her shoulders in the second snap and remained full.
Jenny said: “Yes, genetics play an important role.
“BUT it’s also the consistency! I wanted to show you guys pictures of two different hair lengths she had.”
Urging people to follow her on TikTok, she added: “Let me show you the tips she has shown me.”
