According to experts at Consumer Reports, most keys will have an inbuilt button that remotely starts your car.
On most fobs, the engine start button is labelled with a circular arrow.
It is usually activated by pressing the lock button, then the remote start.
Another way you can use this little-known feature on other cars is by pressing the circular arrow button twice.
Sometimes it works by clicking the lock button three times in quick succession.
It comes as drivers were also shocked to discover more features on their car key fob that keep them comfortable and safe.
According to experts at Readers Digest, most keys will have an inbuilt panic button that activates emergency alert systems.
While this can be used to help locate you car in a busy car park, it could also potentially save your life in dangerous situations.
This feature could also help prevent burglars breaking into your car, or home.
If the panic button can turn on the vehicle alarm from inside your house, you could hit during the night if you hear or see anything suspicious
For less serious situations, some key fobs can even be used to adjust the level of your seat for a more comfortable ride.
Certain car manufactures offer models that boast a memory feature that automatically sets your seat to the distance and height suited to you.
This will be set by each driver, who will have a different code on their key fob, so the car automatically recognises who’s behind the wheel.
