The easiest pizza roll recipe you can cook in the air fryer in just three minutes – they’re perfect for packed lunches
THERE are few foods more universally loved by kids than pizza – even the fussiest of eaters generally won’t turn their nose up at the tasty treat.
But in its usual form, it’s not really the most packed-lunch friendly of items: the slices don’t travel particularly well, not to mention it’s hardly the most healthy of dishes.
Fear not: one kitchen whizz has come up with a nifty recipe for delicious “pizza rolls” that take just minutes to cook and are a sure-fire way to make sure you little ones polish off their packed lunch.
Lorraine is a digital creator who regularly shares healthy meal inspiration with her 354k followers on her TiKTok account @HealthyFitBella.
And in a recent clip, she shared an idea for “something really simple and really tasty to make with the kids”.
“Try not to eat them yourselves,” the gorgeous kitchen whizz joked as she tucked into one, “because they are so good!”
To begin, you want to take a slice of bread and cut off the crusts, before stretching it out a smidge with a rolling pin.
Coat with a little bit of pizza sauce, and then you can add whatever topping your little one fancies to the lower third of the bread.
Lorraine goes for pepperoni, but you could also use it as an opportunity to sneak in a bit of veg: some mushroom or spinach would go down a treat.
And of course, top with a generous layer of cheese to ensure you get that perfect mozzarella pull at the end.
When you’re happy with your additions, roll the bread up tightly – like you would a towel – and add a little more pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese to the top.
You then want to stick them in the air fryer at 200C for around three or four minutes – or, as Lorraine puts it, “until everything is melty, and cheesy, and gooey”.
“They are absolutely delicious,” the kitchen guru confirmed as she removed them from the basket with tongs.
And viewers clearly agreed, with her clip quickly racking up a whopping 607k likes and thousands of impressed comments.
“THESE LOOK SO GOOD,” gushed one impressed fan.
“Made these. They r delicious, kids loved them [sic],” another added.
But plenty of users pointed out that it wasn’t just kiddies who’d enjoy the mouth-watering creation.
“Saving this for my 20-year-old self and absolutely zero children,” one joked.
