Shocking moment bride cuts up £2.5k wedding gown mid-ceremony to make a mini dress and it’s really divided opinion
WEDDING dresses costs thousands of pounds and often brides keep it hidden away for the day their own daughter might tie the knot.
But none of this mattered to one woman, who decided to cut her gown mid-way through her ceremony.
The wedding photographer shared a clip of the shocking event on social media, explaining: “Me, six years into photographing weddings thinking I’ve seen it all,” followed by three shocked face emojis.
She then shared a clip of the best man cutting the groom’s blue trousers in half, turning them into a pair of shorts.
The groom, meanwhile, could be seen in just his pants as he squatted down before putting them on and walking out into the reception.
The bride could be seen shaking her head in disbelief, over which the photographer wrote: “The bride in her $3,000 (£2,500) dress”.
She could then be seen running into her dressing room as another woman took a pair of scissors to cut the bottom half of her gown.
The camera panned over the satin fabric on the ground before looking up to show the blonde bride run through a door in her makeshift mini dress and white boots.
The happy couple could then be seen locking lips on the dance floor before sparklers were lit in their honour.
“They changed the wedding script,” TikTok user @barstoolsports wrote in the caption.
People were quick to comment on the post as many were left divided by the action the pair took.
“This screams I have money,” one person wrote as a second chimed: “I wish I was rich enough to do this”.
Another person it was “crazy” to cut a dress that expensive while a fourth shared: “Thatsss whyy you buy another dress thats more short, and your wedding dress”.
Others, however, were all for their drastic action to cut their outfits.
“All these people saying money. But MAYBE she only plans on wearing it once and having one wedding. So why not?” one person quizzed.
Another said: “I mean honestly it’s just a one time dress. if I paid that much money for it (and had no intentions of selling it) I say why not make the most of it?”
A third agreed: “Could be a 10k dress it’s mostly likely being worn once so might as well enjoy the night”.
While a fourth added: “People actin like she’d wear the dress again… if anything they can clean up the cut & now she has a mini dress for anniversary’s and can wear it more”.
