I gave my council house bathroom the cutest makeover using a £10 B&M item – the result is so chic
A SAVVY DIYer has shared the fantastic bathroom makeover she achieved using items that she nabbed at B&M.
Han O’Malley shared a clip on her TikTok account, @HanOMalley, demonstrating how she achieved the nifty revamp in a matter of hours using budget buys.
She began by showing off her rather drab bathroom to start, which had plain white walls and a rather tired looking backsplash featuring cream tiles behind the sink.
It was the latter that the handy whizz decided to tackle first, showing off a pack of Blenheim Self Adhesive Wall Tiles she’d picked up from B&M.
A pack costs £10, and features pre-made rolls of the hexagonal grey pattern that can simply be fixed wherever you want them.
Han used scissors to cut each one into a perfect rectangular shape, before carefully aligning and sticking them down on top of the existing cream tiles.
She then repeated the process on her windowsill, once again covering the grubby cream tiles with the new gorgeous grey design.
Han’s next step was to spruce up the plain white walls – and she had a nifty trick to create a stunning pattern without purchasing wallpaper.
She picked up a tub of Valspar paint from B&Q – it’s around £35 for a huge tin that could easily coat a room – and began by dipping a circular stamp in the paint, coating one end.
The crafty DIYer then carefully pressed it against the wall again and again, creating a stunning polka-dot pattern that looked absolutely flawless.
Sure, it might be a time-consuming process – but the final effect was remarkable, as Han showed off in a quick swizz around the room.
Her last step was to coat the bottom half of each wall in a mauve paint, creating a beautiful two-tone effect that made the ceilings appear so high.
She finished off with a couple more bargain buys to compliment the design, including a super cute polka-dot soap dispenser to match the walls that she picked up for £6 from B&M.
Han showed off the final result: a stunning statement bathroom that was literally unrecognisable from a few hours before.
“Cheap and easy DIY bathroom transformation,” she wrote in the caption.
If you’re looking to carry out a cheap revamp yourself, the self-adhesive stickers available from B&M and the like are a fab option.
One Californian homeowner created her dream ‘Barbie’ bathroom using beautiful blush stick-on tiles she purchased from The Smart Tile.
Another DIY fan, meanwhile, created the illusion of miles more space in their tiny kitchen by refreshing their walls with the £10 B&M buy.
